5 Simple Steps to Stay Up to Date on Your Business
Friday, October 28th, 2011Are you and your business staying up to date—with technology, with customers, with the market? Change is the one constant in today’s business world, and change seems to be accelerating. If you are not keeping pace with all the changes that impact your business, you could be left in your competitors’ dust.
Here are five ways to jump the tracks of habit and get new energy, business, and profits:
1. Host an event.
Open your office for a networking opportunity, a business briefing or breakfast. Get clients and prospects through the door with a program that will be beneficial to them. If your budget is lean, partner with a complementary business to pool your resources. For example, if you are a real estate broker hosting first-time home buyers, allow a mortgage company to provide catered food and coffee.
2. Meet with your advisors in person.
Ask your “A-Team” (think your lawyer, CPA, benefits consultant) to meet face-to-face. Discuss changes in your operations, ask for discounted fees or propose performance-based billing in exchange for a renewed commitment to do business together.
3. Conduct informational interviews.
Some genuine stars, the best and brightest managers, salespeople, financial planners and artistic professionals are seeking work right now. So, too, are high-energy college graduates. Meet with them—even if you do not have a job opening. Fifteen minutes may inspire a job seeker to share industry insights. It also may inspire you to bring on a consultant until a full-time position is available.
4. Sharpen your sword.
If you have sold widgets for 15 years by doing X, Y and Z for five hours a day, and you are still doing X, Y and Z but your sales are down by 50 percent, shake things up. Stay sharp. Take classes online, listen to training experts and shed old habits that no longer yield results. A new economy requires fresh tactics in every industry. Moreover, what worked during a growth phase may not guarantee success in today’s conditions.
5. Target international clients.
Our city is on the map, so think globally. Equip your office with web conferencing technology, attend seminars on international outreach and etiquette, discuss foreign currency billing with your A-Team advisors and track headlines. Create a customized approach for non-U.S. markets seeking a presence here. If you do not, someone else will.
Though it will certainly help to pursue these strategies once or twice, you will achieve much more by adopting them permanently. Incorporate one or more into your standard operating procedures and you will be better able to stay in tune and competitive in your market.

Young Entrepreneur Forum Tour

This Video will walk you through the sign up and posting tutorial on the Young Entrepreneur Forums.
Build Your Very Own Website
Thursday, October 27th, 2011For a busy entrepreneur, it would not likely happen, especially for the ones that are not inclined with IT. But one thing is for sure; they are always inclined to profitability. So, why would they spend several study hours if they can pay someone to do it, and earn in a fastest way. It sounds practical right? So, if you are into this trend of professionals, and you want to build your own website, then you should think again.
First of all, IT professionals related to website building are starting to grow in numbers, giving you an advantage to get the cheapest labour without having a difference in their expertise. And since it is an internet outsourcing, you will have the most hassle free method of finding your desired web builder. This is because all the transactions made from the hiring down to job offer are made online. You just have to face your laptops, and all is done, compared to the ever hectic and exhausting traditional hiring process. Isn’t that nice? They are actually being paid in an hourly basis giving you flexibility to limit its involvement within the completion of its tasks. Or, if you are not satisfied with their works, you have the power to terminate them in any hour expiration you have set to them.
Not only is the hiring online, but also with the creation of websites. There are several web designing firms that offer a real time monitoring feature for their clients. This enables you to step by step monitor the progress of your website. This also filters other non-working hours not to be included for the payment. The process is so straightforward. You just need to pay what they have worked for. And since it is monitored online, you can simultaneously insert at the middle of their working hours, the things you want to change in the same time they are working wherein you can critically input your views about the design. This is a very good way of knowing how they build your own website.
The testing phase up to the launching stage, a website is really a tedious task. Since you are exposing your website to any worst scenarios it may encounter during its operations. And if it does find one, you need to do analysis how to prevent it. And in doing such, may lead to re-designing which leads to the beginning of everything. This just proves that building your own website would be a “no” for businessmen- as what they said “time is gold.”
Since it is all online, the output submission and project completion will be expected in the fastest and shortest time you could imagine. Sending projects online is just a matter of seconds. And then, you are now ready to mingle with your fellow online businessmen.
Isn’t that convenient enough for you? You just build your own website in no time. It is a big difference especially for a non-IT business professional. It is really true that in order to conquer and enjoy your dreams in life, you should play smart! Regardless to what group of professionals you are in, as long as you are thinking smart at it, then I am sure you will be successful.

Buy Business Leads- Facts To be Considered Every Time You Look For a New Opportunity in The Market!
Thursday, October 27th, 2011In today’s time when everything is available easily via both the online and traditional way, it becomes quite difficult for an individual to decide from where to buy business leads which are the right and authentic ones. There are various ways from which the business leads can be brought. But, instead of looking for the new business leads again and again, a person should try to look for those types of the leads which will deliver more leads for them in the future.
It is also very important for people to consider the actual requirement of the business, while planning to buy business leads. There are some of the very important points which are to be considered by a person if they are planning to buy business leads. The first and the foremost point which is to be kept in mind, business leads should be in accord with what you are selling or purchasing lest these might not have any meaning and scope in the market at all. This will surely help you in the future, as after purchasing the lead people in the market will become eager for hearing about that and might also buy that product.
In the present time, there are quite a few of the companies that are into selling such types of the data. Therefore, one should try relating the products to such businesses that are in to same relevant fields. This will further help in enhancing the person’s way by already having databases of such types of the companies. Also, this will help your business in growing among the other companies and progress towards nurturing better B2B relationships. This will also help in adding value to the business through accessing with little cost for the entire group for the new business leads. This is undoubtedly the most profitable and convenient way and will thus result in the more profitable business leads.
The second point to be considered is that the business leads that you are planning to buy, should be the fresh and one should investigate properly. It is sometimes noticed that the data which is being sold is few months old. The next point which is to be considered is that when one is buying a business lead from some other company, then one should always ask the company about the method of how this company generates leads that people buy. This will definitely help you in getting best possible results and the better approach in order to generate the business leads.
Lastly, the point to be considered is one should always buy business leads that are quite relevant with their own products and the services. These business leads should be having the good cost rather than being extremely costly and very cheap. Therefore, before purchasing any of the business leads one should always ask about the references. The business leads are good or not can always be confirmed from the other satisfied customers. For attaining the business leads one should take care of all the mentioned points. One should buy from the company which can clear all your doubts.

5 Money-On-Demand Secrets To Creating Great Adsense Sites
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011The rage to milk money from Adsense continues into 2009. While there are many different ways to do this, it’s no secret Google is keeping a watchful eye on spam sites which automatically generate pages consistently on a daily basis.
Every now and then, Adsense ‘experts’ would introduce a ‘fresh’ new way of generating pages which Google “has not caught on yet”, be it article, directory or backlink generators.
While these software are very good at what they do, you can’t solely depend on them for long-term success. It’s a natural tendency that automatically generated content just doesn’t look like quality pages with highly informative, up-to-date content, but it’s my personal observation.
Most run-of-the-mill, ads-on-topfold Adsense sites lack substantial sections and deeper structures to be interesting enough to make visitors think they should come back to check them out more often. While generating as many pages as possible is crucial to get them indexed and thereby build substantial presence in search results, these types of pages should only complement principal content that reflects what your site stands for and the selling point it serves to maximize its overall value. There used to be a question that goes, “Is building Adsense sites a business?” My answer is: Adsense is secondary.
Of course, like you I do want Adsense to be my primary source of income. The secret is in emphasizing content and value, not Adsense ads. You may have felt resigned to say, “Does that mean more work?” Not really. Here’s another secret inspired by a quote from Albert Einstein: You can’t solve your Adsense income challenge at the same level of thinking.
Truth is: I have build a good number of Adsense sites, but my main Internet Marketing site which I treat as my core business earns more than some of them despite my intention not to make it Adsense-focused, all the more so when it has absolutely nothing to do with high-paying keywords and the tremendous amount of time that goes into keyword research…which leads to the next secret: create a site with a subject or niche you know you can continually express and expand on instead of getting stuck with a ‘lucrative’ keyword you may run out of ideas on in the long term.
This is as good as saying Adsense is not just a keyword value game; it is still the classic “How do I get and retain traffic” game, and traffic is not some scoreline, but real people with genuine interest.
eHow.com is an incredible example. It’s a free site that shows people how to do a lot of different things. The best way to explain the site is just for you to go have a quick look now. They have hundreds, possibly thousands of pages of content on all sorts of subjects and the way they get traffic to their site is through the search engines.
Every page on the site has an Adsense box on it and that’s how it makes money. They also have a Alexa traffic ranking of around 2000 which is great.
Of course, it doesn’t make sense to write or purchase that much content by yourself. eHow.com succeeds in getting its visitors involved in content contribution. There’s also a wikiHow to get contributors involved in constant update of a common topic or article.
For a start, here are suggestions on the type of sections you can integrate into a site:
1) Lead capture page with freebies or incentives.
2) Article directory.
3) A ‘Contact Us’ page.
4) An ‘About Us’ page.
5) Forum: The challenge lies in the time and effort needed to build up momentum to encourage forum participants to write in.
6) An archive section of some kind, for selected articles for example.
7) Blog/podcast pages.
Reciprocal link directory.
9) Sitemap.
It doesn’t take much to think of these standard sections. Even a products section makes your site look good besides providing another source of income, and then you replicate these sections site after site, niche after niche.
4th secret: Only sites with a general theme can afford to be massive-looking. Examples: Entrepreneur.com and Dogomania.com. Then you break the theme down into specifics like gathering them under an umbrella: dog training, dog hygiene, dog naming, dog psychology, doggy habits etc. Accurate targeting of Adsense ads depends on specific subjects as reflected on page. One thing to note is it is better that specific sections are inter-linked in some ways. If you run a site on everything about cancer, because “colon cancer” and “breast cancer” are not intrinsically related, visitors interested in one section may not want to take a first glance at another.
5th secret about content: write from a ‘consumer’ perspective instead of the ‘opportunist’ or “how to make money” perspective. What is it your visitors are looking to buy? Ads normally target and appeal directly to consumers. It’s pointless to put up content about how to make money with car accessories when there are hardly ads on “how to make money”. Stick to introducing car accessories and let the ads do the selling. If an accessory or equipment catch visitors’ attention and they click on the ads, you got Adsense dollars.
That’s about all the ideas I have at this moment. You should be confident now and maybe have some more new ideas I haven’t thought of. For sure, Adsense is a major income source you should seriously explore and make it big if you haven’t done so. This is one of those money machines that will make you money-on-demand pretty much for the life of Google.

The 5 Pillars of Home Based Business
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011In today’s unstable economy, depending on a single source of income is not a smart thing. Fortunately, there are many home based income opportunities these days for us to create a supplement source of income stream. Home based business opportunity is perhaps the best option for us to create additional source of income, especially for those who have children at home. Home based business can be very profitable, it can even replace your 9 to 5 job in the long run. However, you do need to have the right knowledge and skill to succeed in home based business.
Without the proper knowledge and tools you can waste an incredible amount of time and/or money which defeats the purpose you started out with, namely to make money and have time to do the things you want to do. This article was written to give the average person like you and I a practical guideline to getting started in a home based business the right way, and to save you wasted time and money. My experience has shown me that there are basically 5 main pillars or principles of a solid home based business.
Pillar #1: It must have a small start up cost. There is some risk in getting into a new home based business venture. Therefore, it is important that it has a small start up cost.
Pillar #2: Can do it on part-time basis. Besides minimal stat-up cost, a home based business should allow you to do on a part-time basis. When creating your second source of income stream, it is important that you don’t quit your 9 to 5 job. Because creating new income stream will need some time.
Pillar #3: It must be easy to set up and maintain. You should choose the kind of home based business that is easy to set up and maintain. You don’t want to get into some thing that takes a lot of time and money to get it going. You want a business where you can start in just a few days. A home based business that is easy to set up and maintain will give you confidence and a sense of accomplishment as you complete each simple step in the process.
Pillar #4: It must have a quick return on investment (ROI) When it comes to starting a home based business, selecting one that has quick return on investment (ROI) is crucial to your success. You don’t want to get into a business that takes a long time to profit, you want something that can generate profit quickly. For instance, affiliate marketing business if done right can produce real profit for you after a few hours.
Pillar #5: Can be automated You want to have a home based business that you can put on autopilot but still bring in good income for you. You should be able to outsource the tasks easily for cheap. This will give you more free time to create another new income stream. Whatever home based business opportunity you choose, make sure that it is supported by the 5 pillars mentioned above. Do not make the mistake of overcomplicating your efforts or you will get bogged down very quickly and wasted your time and effort.
I hope you find this article useful and I hope that you can accomplish success in your home based business.

Daughters of Indian Businessman
Tuesday, October 25th, 2011While some have just joined and are still helping the business grow, the climb to the top for most others has been tricky. These women have thrown their entrepreneurial energy in to the family business and helped the firm stay ahead of the curve while taking on ever greater responsibilities on key accounts. They have broken the psychological block that a son and not a daughter is a potential successor! As, women continue to expand their role in the business world and show that they are as capable as men, fathers are giving key positions to their daughters in the family business.
Very recently a succession plan was announced by the chairman of health service provider Apollo Hospitals. Prathap Reddy said his eldest daughter Preetha Reddy will take charge of the group once he retires.Reddy has four daughters and they have become the four pillars on which his pioneering enterprise stands today. His eldest daughter Preetha Reddy is Apollo Hospitals’ managing director while Suneeta Reddy is executive director (finance) and Sangita Reddy is executive director (operations). Shobana Kamineni looks after health insurance and new initiative businesses of the group.Reddy, in some of his recent media interviews, has said his daughters are brilliant and they are managing things beautifully. With a health care empire that only seems to be growing, all thanks to the dynamic four daughters, Pratap Reddy is one proud father.
The eldest daughter of industrialist A Sivasailam, is the pride of her parents and a well known entrepreneur of India.Mallika Srinivasan joined her father’s Amalgamations Group in 1986. She was made the general manager of Tafe (Tractors and Farm Equipment) Company. She converted Tafe into a hi-technology-oriented company and increased the turnover substantially. The company found a niche for itself as the leading tractor manufacturer, and expanded its area of operations under her guidance.Mallika did her MA (econometrics) from Madras University. She then went abroad to pursue further studies. She did her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Married to Venu Srinivasan, the chairman and managing director of TVS Motor, she is one of the most successful women CEOs in India. She was Economic Times Businesswoman of the year 2006.Interestingly, Lakshmi Venu, daughter of Venu and Mallika Srinivasan, was recently inducted as a director on the board of auto-component maker Sundaram Clayton Ltd, TVS Motors’ holding company. This move was viewed as a succession plan for TVS Motor, India’s third-largest two-wheeler manufacturer by sales.Besides having successful industrialist parents, Lakshmi has impressive educational credentials. The school topper from Sishya School in Chennai, Lakshmi joined Yale and graduated in economics and is a doctorate degree-holder from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.
Sulajja Firodia Motwani is the joint managing director of two-wheeler firm Kinetic Motor Company, a position she inherited from her father.Being at the helm of Kinetic, she faced the challenge of leading a company after their joint venture partner, Honda, moved out. She had to deal with the market when scooters were not in fashion and motorcycles were the rave.Kinetic had to make its debut in the motorcycle business and tied up with overseas manufacturers to bring in modern scooters to lure back customers.Sulajja coped with this difficult part, made her parents proud and paved way for her siblings.Sulajja did her MBA from Carnegie Melon and worked in California for a couple of years before heading back home to join the family business.Roshni Nadar, the only daughter of tech billionaire Shiv Nadar, took over as executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation at the age of 27.This young heiress did her MBA in social enterprise management and strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. After completing her education and returning back home Roshni kept herself involved in brand building and social initiatives of HCL.As her degree suggests, she has her skills set in the social enterprise management, and therefore in her role at HCL she is involved only in the development side of business, while her father and founder of HCL, Shiv Nadar has full discretion to take key decisions in the interest of the company.Roshni is involved only in the investment company HCL Corp, and not in either HCL Infosystems or HCL Technologies – both managed by a group of professionals.Interestingly, this young lady had her interests in media and had changed her major from Economics to film. She majored in radio, television and film and did internships with CNBC and CNN before she went to pursue a career in management.
Another great example is Meher Pudumjee. She took the chair once occupied by Thermax founder and her grandfather AS Bhathena, nurtured by her father Rohinton Aga and preserved by her mother Anu Aga.Meher joined Thermax as a trainee engineer in August 1990. In a year’s time, she was given the responsibility to manage the company’s overseas operations in the UK. She returned to India in 1996 and became a member of the board of directors. After her stints with the treasury and working capital management functions, she moved to corporate strategic planning. In 2001, Pudumjee was appointed non-executive director of Thermax and became vice-chairperson in 2002.She learned the ins and outs of the business for 14 long years before succeeding her mother in 2004. Along with her husband (Pheroze Pudumjee), Meher has put Thermax on the path to success.Meher, is a postgraduate in chemical engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. She was the Business Standard CEO of the Year for 2007-08.
Although Anuradha Desai may have inherited her father’s empire by virtue of her birth, she has strived hard to expand into newer areas of poultry business and survived bird flu outbreaks.Daughter of late BV Rao, pioneer of organised poultry business in India, leads the Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group whereas her two younger brothers work closely in the group.Anuradha has fine tuned the vision she inherited from her father and is today the voice of the Indian poultry industry. She has increased the turnover of her father’s business manifold. She now oversees a multi-activity business including eggs, egg powder, poultry feed, animal feed, vaccines, biotech, research and development and even wine distribution and entertainment. She also added the export initiative of Venky’s Chicken to her success story.
Shefali Munjal was inducted into father Sunil Kant Munjal’s Hero Group to explore the company’s greenfield projects. Where others failed, she kept the IT and ITeS businesses afloat, and added new ones to the portfolio.Besides these projects, she has been an integral part of the business development and strategic decision making team at Hero Corporate. Shefali is actively involved in strategic reviewing of operations and is a good team player. She is currently doing a senior management program at Harvard Business School, and is expected to graduate in 2011.She is also a member of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s National Committee on Insurance and Pensions, a founding member of the CII Young Indians Council, the Entrepreneurs Organization (Delhi Chapter) and The Art of Living Foundation. Shefali is also a trained pianist, adventure sports enthusiast, amateur artist and is fluent in French.
Pia Singh manages her father’s entertainment venture.Daughter of KP Singh, chairman DLF Group, heads DLF’s entertainment venture, Digital Talkies (DT) Cinema as well as handles the group’s retail business as its managing director. This multi-tasking persona worked with GE Capital in risk underwriting before joining the group.Interestingly, Pia’s inclination towards films was not newfound. During her academic days she pursued a short term film-making course from New York University after graduating from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a major in finance.
Priya Paul took the reins of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels after the untimely death of her father Surrendra Paul. Younger sister Priti Paul looked after the shipping business of the Apeejay Surrendra Group, while their brother was studying.Priya gave a new dimension to the Park Hotel chain. Priti took over the creative side, and looked after the Oxford bookstore, the Cha Bar chain and the real estate division. Brother Karan Paul is now chairman and handles other businesses.Priya is a Bachelor of Economics from Wellesley College, USA, while Priti is a Master in Design Studies, from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, minor in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA.
For Godrej daughters it was tough, the kids had to join as interns, prove themselves, and move ahead.Adi Godrej’s daughter Tanya Dubash is now president, marketing and executive director in Godrej Industries and younger daughter Nisha is executive vice president for development in Godrej Industries and is also on the board of Godrej Agrovet. When his son, Pirojsha, started work at Godrej properties after a three-week induction programme like all others, all his father had to say was that Pirojsha’s career would depend solely on his performance, as it would for any new entrant in the group.
Same was the case with Shalaka Gulabchand, daughter of Ajit Gulabchand, chairman and managing director of Hindustan Construction Company, and the man behind Bandra-Worli sea link. She joined the company in September 2000 as an executive (planning and business development). There was no time frame for the only daughter as to when she will be part of the board. It was performance based. In June 2007, Shalaka was appointed general manager-business development.Shalaka, holds a bachelors degree in international relations from Boston University.
Sminu Jindal, daughter of Prithviraj Jindal and granddaughter of OP Jindal, joined the family business as a trainee at the fag end of her teens in Swastik Foils, a unit of Jindal SAW.She turned around the sick unit into a profitable venture in the very first year of joining by pioneering the production of ultra thin gauge steel that was unheard of in that era and time. She then trained her sight on Jindal SAW in 1997. Soon she was at the helm of affairs as the managing director. In spite of being confined to the wheelchair due to an accident at the age of 11, she never allowed her spirit to be chained. She initiated environment protection steps like effluent treatment plants and environment friendly processes much before the government regulatory authorities’ drive. Jindal SAW Ltd was one of the very first companies to be awarded all environmental clearances.
Prakash Chauhan’s three little stars were groomed to join the Parle Agro business from the very beginning. The eldest, Schauna Chauhan did her B-schooling and joined the Parle Agro in 1999 and by 2002 she was running the business. She is now the CEO, while daddy remains the chairman.Alisha Chauhan was passionate about fitness and opened ‘V3′ a chain of health and fitness centres. She diversified the business through this venture.Meanwhile, the youngest, Nadia Chauhan, started to attend marketing meetings with her dad at the age of 11. Officially though, she joined the business in 2002.
For publishing major Ashok Malhotra succession planning was never an issue. His daughters Monica Malhotra Kandhari and Sonica Malhotra took over the reins very early.A commerce graduate, Monica explored her passion for publishing by joining the family business as a trainee in the MBD group’s publishing and printing wing at the age of 16. She is now the senior executive director of MBD.
Meanwhile, Sonica, executive director at MBD and an MBA in finance from International Management Institute France, handles key projects in hospitality and real estate sector, right from project planning to execution and is also responsible for branding, positioning and assisting in expansion plans of the group.
Lara Balsara, joined father Sam Balsara’s Radison Communication at the age of 26. Lara did her BA from St Xaviers College in Mumbai and went to the UK to pursue her masters in marketing from Bristol University. She came back and joined Madison as a trainee in 2003. She diversified the business further and was responsible for the success of Madison Teamworks and Entertainment, Madison Retail Paradigm and Madison RKD retail/iq.
Rangita Nandy joined father Pritish Nandy’s PNC as a management trainee and has progressed to creative head of the company. She has been a producer of bollywood films like Chameli, Jhankar Beats, Shabd and Pyar ke Side Effects.
Meghna Puri has been a part of dad Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts from the age of 16. She helped her father fulfil his dream of setting up an institute to teach film making. Today, she is the president of the institute–Whistling Woods International. She did her business management from King’s College in London in 1999.
Devita Saraf joined her father’s Zenith Computers while she was a student. The Topper Laptop, Power of Seven Laptop range, Infotainer II, Multiply and the Topper Desktop are some of Zenith’s products launched under her leadership. She currently spearheads Vu Technologies, the pioneer in the concept of ‘Luxury in Technology’. She is also executive director of Zenith Computers.
Ashni Biyani, daughter of Kishore Biyani, got herself involved in the innovation and incubation division of Future Group at a young age of 22. She did her schooling at Queen Mary, studied at HR college in Mumbai, and did a course in textile designing and design management.
