Young entrepreneurs from hard to reach communities of Newham who have created their own jobs through forming their own businesses through The Small Business Consultancy’s E=MC2 programme [Enterprise = (Money x Creativity)2 pitched their business ideas with real working prototypes for the grand £500 prize to judges Rajeeb Dey, o2 Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2009; Simon Carter, Marketing Director, Fujitsu UK; Mark Savage, Founder and Managing Director, Comms Direct; ex-Dragon and Entrepreneur Rachel Elnaugh. The winning business idea was the revolutionary “Stir-o-Meter” the company, PreventaBurn and it’s young directors from previously offending and unemployed backgrounds delivered a passionate pitch to the high profile Dragons and guests. They displayed a working prototype of the revolutionary disposable coffee stirrer which prevents consumers from burning their tongues when consuming hot drinks.

Ernst & Young names Noodles & Company’s CEO 2010 Rocky Mountain Entrepreneur of the Year
Ernst & Young honored six Denver-area business people as winners of the 24th annual Rocky Mountain Entrepreneur of the Year awards. Kevin Reddy, CEO and chairman of Noodles & Company, took home the Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Hospitality category. The winners will go on to represent the region at the national Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Palm Springs, Calif., in November.
